The Body-Mind Connection

This is a continuation of the blog post just before this. If you haven’t read it yet, you might want to at least skim it. I’m taking a past message from Amma and giving you my own reflections about what she says.

I want to tell you a secret about low vibration energy. I say this with a smile and a wink because it is not really a secret. If you consider what I say you will know that it is Truth. You have experienced this but may not be aware of the “secret” contained within your experience.

When your memory of an event produces low vibration energy, such as fear, anger, sadness, you lock the experience of the event within your bodies, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. When your memory of the event produces high vibration energy, such as gratitude and appreciation, the creation of that is also in your body. In addition, it is fluid. In other words, it is open to change. You create, and can alter your creation, simply by changing the vibration of your thoughts and feelings. Low vibration energy holds the creation solidly within you. High vibration energy is fluid.

I’m sure this isn’t news to you. You’ve heard this in some fashion for many years. What you think, what you feel, what you do has an effect upon your body. This is not some pie-in-the-sky New Agey saying. It is back up by science and continually being proven by science. Many of the research tests for this are simple and easily validated the laboratory.

You have an enzyme in your saliva which measures the strength of your immune system. When you are under stress there is not as much of this enzyme meaning that your immune system is weakened. When the stress is gone the amount of enzyme increases indicating that your immune system is strengthened. This is what Mind Body Psychology is all about.

I’d like to share personal story with you. This happened when I was 17 and before I knew anything about the mind body connection. I was a junior in high school and it was finals time. I had studied very hard for my American history class and felt a great deal of stress building up to the exam.

The morning of the class I woke up chilled and feverish. I took my temperature and my fever was almost 102. There was no way I was not going to take this test with the rest of my classmates. I walked into the classroom feeling absolutely miserable, took the test, handed it in and walked out the door.

As I was walking in the hallway I noticed I didn’t feel hot and feverish anymore. When I checked my temperature at home an hour later I was fever free. Forty some odd years later I now know that this was a perfect example of the mind-body connection and how stress can affect the immune system.

Amma mentions that our thoughts, feelings and experiences upon our body or fluid. As we change our thoughts, as we change your feelings, are body changes along with them, just as my personal example of when I was in high school.

Amma also talked about how the energy of what we think, feel and how we act is locked into our body and our energy field. Perhaps you have heard of cellular memory. Although the scientific studies I’ve read on cellular memory do not uphold the concept that the cells hold the energy, my personal experience demonstrates that something happens.

Perhaps the energy isn’t held in the cells themselves, but the energy is within the body or the energy field somehow. It is not unusual for me to be working with a client and to detect a feeling caught within the body. I will then lead the individual through a process of connecting with the feeling, discovering the details about the feeling, and then sending the energy of the feeling away. More often than not the client feels a definite difference when that energy is no longer within the body.

What Amma doesn’t mention in this particular section is that the energy of the feelings you carry may not belong to you. You can be carrying the feelings of parents, significant others and anyone else who has projected their feelings, usually fear or anger, upon you.

This particular message from Amma is about healing using the Heart Source. Let’s read what she has to say next.

This is what we are going to do today. I’m going to show you how to use the power of your Heart Source to make these changes.

Begin by being sure you are in your Heart Source. Very quickly now, check the connections you have made.

Is your awareness in both the front and back of your Heart Center?

Is your awareness in both the front and back of your Third Eye?

Is the beam of energy connecting your Heart Center and your Third Eye strong?

How is the strength of the beam of energy from your Third Eye upwards to the Center of the Universe?

Evaluate the beam of energy from the Heart Center down into the Center of the Earth.

If any of these connections are weak, strengthen them by focusing on them. You may also ask assistance from your Soul Self.

To strengthen the entire Heart Source, and to raise your vibration as a whole, spin your chakras. You may do this by saying, “Chakras spin.” They know the direction they are to spin. Since they were already spinning, actually vibrating, they will do so faster.

Ask your Soul Self to spin your chakras as fast as is safe for you.

As the chakras spin, you are bringing more and more energy into your Heart Source from your connections to the Center of the Universe and the Center of the Earth. Simply allow the energy to fill your Heart Source.

As you are in a state of allowing, expand your Heart Source around you. Simply say, “Expand around me, Heart Source.” It will expand as far around you as you wish. Generally, when you do not give it specific instructions, it will expand as far as the first seven layers of your aura.

Now relax.

Your vibration is higher than it was when you began this exercise and your Heart Source has provided a protective shield around you.

The above exercise is an excellent one to use on a regular basis. It assist you in evaluating the strength of the different segments of your heart source. The more you are aware of your Heart Source, the easier it is for you to know when it is out of balance in some way. This awareness, the sensitivity, is an important skill to have.
